February is Heart Month and the month to Get the Red Out.  GVMH offers a wide range of Cardiology Services from Cardiology Clinic to cardiac diagnostic and imaging services to Cardiac Rehab.  Here’s a neat story about a recent Cardiac Rehab Graduate who doesn’t have wooden teeth though one of his relatives did!

75-year-old Robert Lantz of Windsor, MO recently graduated from Phase II Cardiac Rehab after completing 36 sessions. To celebrate he wore his George Washington costume. Mr. Lantz is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution Martin Warren Chapter. He is a nephew of George Washington that goes 8 generations back. Because of this he wears the costume at milestones in his life and this last session of Cardiac Rehab is one of those milestones. “The excellent staff at the GVMH Cardiac Rehab is friendly and supportive,” says Mr. Lantz, “I have been through a Cardiac Rehab before at another location and have found the experience at GVMH to be the best.”

During Phase II Cardiac Rehab patients are monitored and evaluated throughout the exercise session.Phase II begins after hospitalization and discharge and patients can expect 3 sessions per week for 12 weeks.

GVMH Cardiac Rehab also offers Phase III Cardiac Rehab, a self-pay program for those who have completed the Phase II program or for others who have risk factors for heart disease.

GVMH offers Cardiac Rehab at two locations, Clinton and Warsaw. In 2016 the Cardiac Rehab in Clinton will move into its new location which is under construction at the hospital location. While inpatient services remain a large part of GVMH, the new, expanded facility will create more room for growing outpatient services. The newly expanded facility will continue to offer stationary bicycles, treadmills, ellipticals, weight stations and stationary hand bikes and will be able to accommodate a much larger patient volume. The new location will also feature an indoor walking track.
