At the June 25, 2014 Board Meeting the GVMH Board of Directors approved plans for a facility expansion at GVMH.  The expansion will house outpatient services and consist of 60,000 square feet of new construction on first floor and include another 17,000 square feet of shelled in space for future growth on the second floor.   Along with the new construction several areas currently occupied by outpatient services relocating to the new space will be renovated to house both patient care and support services.

Over the past decade health care has switched from an inpatient service to a primarily outpatient service.  GVMH has realized the same trend and has seen a 50% growth in outpatient services over the past 5 years.  For these services to continue to meet the needs of the community and for the long-term viability of the organization the expansion is necessary.  The timing of the expansion couldn’t be better either.  GVMH has had good earnings over the past few years, has a good nest egg set aside and demand for services is increasing.

Site work will begin this summer and construction of the addition will begin in October.  Final project completion will be in December of 2016.  Here are a few renderings of what the facility will look like when complete.
