Doctor’s Day

We recently celebrated Doctor’s Day here at GVMH and as a part of the celebration staff were asked to provide written comments about the physicians they work with and the comments were then hung outside the cafe’ and they were projected onto the lighted sign in front of the hospital for passing traffic to see.  The comments were heartfelt and they reaffirmed what we already knew…we have a great group of physicians at GVMH and our community is fortunate.

Rachel Boyles, Director of Rehab, nominated one of our local physicians for recognition with the Studer Group on Doctor’s Day as well and our coach at Studer forwarded me Rachel’s submission.   Rachel obviously put a lot of thought into her comments and her comments are very complimentary of one specific physician but more importantly they symbolize the dedication of all of the physicians who practice at GVMH.  Here’s Rachel’s submission:

Dr.Dailey joined the GVMH team approximately 7 years ago.  He is the sole physician at one of our outreach clinics, located in the rural town of Windsor, MO.  He has been demonstrating behaviors of excellence and commitment to quality care since day 1.

An example of this behavior would be when one of Dr.Dailey’s patients was not able to locate transportation to take him the 80 miles to go to a specialist.  Dr.Dailey felt it was imperative for the patient to get to the specialist, and when he chatted with the patient and found out that he had no way of getting to the appointment, Dr.Dailey cancelled his other appointments and took the day to drive his patient to and from the specialist.

Dr.Dailey has demonstrated commitment to our community by taking time to tutor kids from an area school on their math homework and spending evenings and lunch breaks providing health and wellness seminars to local senior citizens.  Now that we have started the Studer journey, Dr.Dailey is our physician champion, participating in all of our LDIs, joining various committees, and helping to be a liaison with the rest of our providers in sharing the Studer processes.  His dedication to his patients and the organization are wonderful, and we are fortunate to have Dr.Dailey at GVMH.
