Commitment to Community: the video edition

Each month different departments are asked to present a “Behavior of the Month” to all staff.  The Behavior of the Month is based on the Behavior Standards that all staff are expected to live by.  This month’s standard is Commitment to Community.

Commitment to Community includes giving your time, praise, wisdom, and support to the communities we serve, and helping out whenever possible, both in the workplace and in the community.  It is important to take initiative and volunteer for these opportunities, rather than waiting to be asked.

GVMH provides many opportunities throughout the year to volunteer within our community, including Olde Glory days, Heritage Days, Diabetes Walk, Halloween Hustle, tutoring at area schools, Senior Fest, Heart Walk, Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, and many, many more.  There are opportunities available in all of the counties we provide care in.

We are representatives of GVMH even after we exit the four walls of our building; make it a personal goal for 2014 to represent GVMH at a community event.  Those we serve in the community are the very same that need our help to provide them exceptional healthcare.

Here’s a link to a video put together by Rachel Boyles, Megan Cunningham and Leslie Lower.  The video is worth a couple of minutes of your time.
