“White” Christmas

A “White” Christmas came at Thanksgiving for a few deserving folks in our area.

Being a patient on home health services isn’t easy or fun especially around the holidays.  When you’re on home health services you’re not allowed to leave your home except for a few exceptions like a doctor’s visit.

Being confined to your home often means you’re forced to miss out on family and social activities.  What’s even more sad is that some of our home health patients don’t have family or friends who are able to help them celebrate the holidays and provide companionship.

One of our home health nurses made sure her patient’s weren’t forgotten about on Thanksgiving.  After finishing dinner with her family, one of our nurses plated up what was left of the turkey and sides and she delivered Thanksgiving meals to her patients who weren’t able to participate in Thanksgiving activities with their own friends or families.

I can only imagine the joy and surprise on those patients faces when they saw Rita White at their door with a plate of food.

Thank you Rita, your efforts and compassion helped a few of our less fortunate patients experience a “White” Christmas at Thanksgiving!
