Running for office

I’ve thrown my hat into the ring of politics.  Not that I care to be a politician but I do believe it is important to contribute to the community in which one lives.   I’ve filed as a candidate for the Clinton School District Board of Education.  A strong school system is an important part of a strong local economy.  I have served on the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Board for the past seven years and I was President of the Board in 2012.  During my time on the Chamber Board I became involved with economic development efforts and I learned the value the school system plays in not only educating and empowering youth but also in business retention and attraction.

Our community is fortunate to have a progressive school system with up to date facilities.  I am supportive of the current administration and I believe in the administration and board’s vision of developing a World Class School District.  I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of the realization of that vision.  I am a strong advocate for community service and volunteerism and the Clinton School District Board of Education is an opportunity for me to continue to contribute to our community.  I believe my educational background and business experience will allow me to be a constructive member of the Clinton School District Board of Education.  I am comfortable and productive in the board setting and I believe it is the board’s role to provide direction and develop policy.  I do not believe governance includes involvement in day-to-day operations.

I am a graduate of the University of Missouri and Central Michigan University.  I received a Physical Therapy Degree from the University of Missouri and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University.  I am also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.  I serve on the University of Missouri’s School of Health Professions Board and the alumni board.  Locally I serve on the Clinton Park Board, Clinton Airport Board and the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Board and I am a member of Rotary and the Elk’s.

I am employed by Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in the capacity of Assistant Administrator and Chief Compliance Officer.  My wife, Alexa, and I have a four-year old son and a second child due in July.  I welcome your questions and concerns and I would encourage you to feel free to contact me with any questions.
