Like many of you I spent a lot of time this summer watching the Olympics. I enjoy rooting on the United States and I really only pay attention to most of the Olympic Sports every 4 years.
An Olympic Gold Medal can mean millions for an American Athlete because, in many cases, endorsement deals often follow. We’ve all seen Subway commercials featuring Michael Phelps and Gabby Douglas just signed a mega deal with Kellogg’s. Endorsements mean big money for the athlete and the sponsoring company hopes the endrsement means big sales for them.
Those endorsement deals got me to wondering who would be the best Olympic Athlete to be a brand spokesperson for GVMH. Afer a great deal of thought and reflection, I have determined the perfect brand ambassador for GVMH.
You! The best brand ambassador any business can have are its employees. Why would we want an Olympic Athlete touting the praises of our services when he, or she, really know nothing about them. The people who understand us best work here every day and make our Mission come to life.
To be effective at promoting our brand our staff must know our Mission: To provide exceptional health and wellness services with friendliness and compassion. Not only must they know the Mission, they must live it and living the Mission starts with me.
Our service requires a great deal of customer contact, after all we save lives every day. To really promote our brand our staff must exhibit our Mission because our Mission is our brand. It’s easy for staff who deal with patients face to face to realize how they exhibit our Mission to our patients but it’s often harder for staff who don’t have direct patient contact. It’s important for us as an organization to help staff at all levels recognize how they impact our ability to deliver our Mission.
All GVMH staff play a key role in bringing our Mission to life and promoting our brand and for that reason all GVMH staff are more important than any Olympic Gold Medal Winner when it comes to promoting GVMH’s brand.
