Want to be skinny? Eat chocolate!

A recent article in the Archives of Internal Medicine states that adults who consumed chocolate more frequently had a lower BMI than those who consumed chocolate less frequently and chocolate may have some beneficial metabolic properties despite its sugar and fat.

Now don’t get too excited. “Frequent” in the study isn’t really all that frequent. Subjects in the study consumed chocolate twice per week on average. The study also mentions that the amount of chocolate consumed matters.

The study results also contained this line “A randomized trial of chocolate for metabolic benefit may be merited.”

It appears more research may be in order but for you chocolate lovers here’s your excuse for eating chocolate at least twice per week!
