What’s for dinner?

How about Smith’s Restaurant.  On Wednesday, March 14, Smith’s Restaurant is sponsoring Dining Out for Diabetes and a portion of the night’s proceeds will go towards the Diabetes Walk Fundraiser.

The Diabetes Walk has become an annual tradition of the GVMH Foundation and the purpose of the walk is to raise funds to pay for diabetes related care right here in our community.  The funds raised at the diabetes walk can be used by anyone in our service area with diabetes and the funds pay for things like diabetic shoes, vision exams, test strips, diabetes education and many other activities that help make diabetes a more manageable condition.

This year’s Diabetes Walk is March 31 at the Clinton High School.  Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m.  The Elks Lodge will be serving breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee starting at 8:00 a.m. for $5.00.  The money raised at the breakfast will go towards the walk.

The Kansas City Comets Soccer Team will also be providing a free soccer clinic for children ages 4 and up and if your child would like to participate, please contact Jamie Ketterman at 885-2253 ext. 6081.

Remember all of the money raised at the Diabetes Walk stays right here to help people in our community.  If you would like to donate or participate in the activities, I hope to see you at the high school on March 31 and maybe I’ll see you at Smith’s Restaurant tonight.
