I spent most of the past week in Dallas attending a conference with the rest of the GVMH Admin Team. The conference was titled “Taking You and Your Organization to the Next Level” and it was hosted by the Studer Group.
The Studer Group is an organization that assists health care providers in improving their organization. The Studer Group has proven tools and tactics that help to create a great place for employees to work, physicians to practice, and patients to receive care.
GVMH has committed to a three-year partnership with the Studer Group and I’m a huge proponent of the process. After attending the conference in Dallas I have a better understanding of the amount of work that will be required and how difficult the journey will be. More importantly, I have a better understanding of the benefits to our staff, physicians and patients and ultimately creating a better place for employees to work, physicians to practice, and for patients to receive care is ALL that matters.
Health care is a tough business and it’s getting tougher every day. If you read this blog on any sort of regular basis you know that reimbursement is shrinking and expectations are increasing. For our organization to survive we must commit ourselves to excellent care and services – Every Patient, Every Encounter, Everyday. We must be GREAT all of the time.
We are hosting a series of Town Hall meetings this week to build organizational awareness about the process and to ask for your commitment to the process.
I want us to be great and I KNOW many of you do as well. I also know that some of you may not care if we’re great and that’s OK, but, if you don’t care, I’d suggest that GVMH is not the right place for you.
