Who’s responsible for rising healthcare costs?

Who do you think is responsible for rising medical costs.  I came across this link the other day www.LetsTalkCost.com and I’d encourage you to check it out and select your scapegoat.

North Carolina Blues has launched a campaign, Let’s Talk Cost, that features six images of goats dressed in human clothes and labeled as one of the following: attorneys, doctors, hospitals, individuals, insurers and pharmaceuticals.   Click on any of the goats and you can find statements about the role that each of these groups plays in rising medical costs.  You can then vote on which party you think is most responsible for the rising cost of healthcare.

For hospitals, for example, statements vary from outrage “A $4,037 CT scan?  $5 for a baby aspirin?  Hospitals are ripping us off!” to the service hospitals play in providing charity care “Charity care and bad debts increase the cost for the rest of us, it’s the systems fault not the hospitals”.

Take a second to visit the link I provided above, you’ll find it humorous and informative!
