Ahh, Clean Air!

The next time you come across one of GVMH’s Engineering Staff be sure to tell them “Thank you” and congratulations.  Thank you for the clean air and congratulations for winnig a national award!

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare’s Engineering Department is proud to be the recipient of the 2011 National Air and Filtration Association (NAFA) Clean Air Award.  This award was presented to only 22 hospitals throughout the United States.  Only two Missouri hospitals have ever received this award; GVMH proudly accepted this year’s award and Liberty Hospital was last year’s recipient.

The Clean Air Award is presented each year to the building owners and managers that take steps to significantly improve the quality of their indoor air by increasing the level or efficiency of their HVAC air filtration system in 10 categories.

Candidates are nominated by both NAFA members and members of the facility management community for the award and must submit detailed and specific steps taken towards cleaning the indoor environment through better air filtration.  Koch Filter Corporation was proud to nominate GVMH for this Award.  A NAFA Certified Air Filtration Specialist confirms these improvements.  Awards are judged by the NAFA Clean Air Award Committee and each recipient receives a custom designed trophy and recognition for their efforts.  Award-winning buildings must maintain Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) diligence and submit inspection data each year in order to keep the NAFA Clean Air Award.
