35th Annual Staff Appreciation Banquet

April 15 marked the 35th Annual Staff Appreciation Banquet at GVMH.  The banquet provides an opportunity for us to thank staff for perfect attendance, years of service and to announce the staff member of the year from the previous year’s staff members of the month.  Jettie Bailey was awarded the honor of staff member of the year and I’m glad I wasn’t on the selection committee because all 12 nominees deserved the award.  Jettie is an exemplary employee and an even better person so the honor is well deserved.

The entertainment was a game of Minute To Win It by four teams from our organization and there was a special appearance from Guy Fieri, host of Minute To Win It.  If you missed the event I’ve provided a few pictures of the two teams who competed for the championship.  The Cardiac Kids, Megan Cunningham and Kristal Moran, edged out the Clinic Contingent, Rhonda Batschelet and Kim Willis, and took home the grand prize of a bronzed bed pan.

Feel free to leave a comment on the blog congratulating the winning team, consoling the losing team or a caption to any of the pictures.

I’m thinking a great caption for the first picture is: “Look, have you ever seen anything like this in a bed pan?”

You can do a lot better than that with your caption especially with the third picture in which Megan and Kristal appear to be on the verge of a tender embrace . . . or the second picture in which Rhonda looks like someone just shared with her that she might have to “try on” the dentures in the denture cup in front of her . . .

In a future blog we will vote for the best caption so be imaginative!
