What does a nurse do?

Even in our current economy the demand for health care careers remains strong.  Walk through just about any health care setting and ask people about their career paths and you’ll find many health care professionals who began their careers as clinicians and have migrated away from the patient bedside.

The move from the patient bedside to a support or administrative role is especially true in the nursing ranks.  At GVMH we have nurses who function in management roles, staff support roles, process support roles, and regulatory roles.

Over the next couple days we’ll look at the role of a couple nurses at GVMH and their path from bedside to current role.
