Every couple of months the Admin Team at GVMH hosts Town Hall Meetings to keep staff informed about what’s going on at GVMH and Thursday of this week is a Town Hall Day. The meetings start early in the morning and extend into the night and we take our show on the road to the clinics in Warsaw, Windsor and Home Health.
As much as I dread the Town Hall Meeting days because I literally do not get anything else done I’m glad to participate in them because communication is important and the opportunity to get in front of a large group of staff at one time and share hospital successes and challenges does not present itself very often.
The theme of this round of Town Halls will be sharing our refocused Mission, Vision and Values and to remind staff of their opportunity to qualify for the Incentive Bonus Plan.
The Incentive Bonus is available to all staff when our operating margin exceeds two percent and our patient satisfaction improves as compared to the previous year. We are having a good year financially so we should exceed a two percent margin. We all play a role in improving patient satisfaction and there is potential for staff to receive a bonus of several hundred dollars if our patient satisfaction in our Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Services improves compared to last year.
I won’t bore you with the details of the plan, that’s why we’re hosting the Town Hall Meetings. You should know we will most likely meet the operating margin requirement, the second half of the equation is up to each of us. It should be our goal every day to be focused on improving patient satisfaction, not because it’s worth a few hundred dollars to each of us, but because it’s the right thing to do. But hey, who’s going to say no to MONEY!
