…because he’s really tall. Today’s fa la la la la is from Mark Mattes, remember all this week I’m posting holiday cheer from my colleagues. Mark is the chief nurse in this part of the world. Mark is the colleague I interact with most – partly because our areas of responsibility overlap but mostly because our offices are next door to one another. Mark’s responsiblity extends to the Patient Care Services Division and patient care is who we are and what we do. I appreciate Mark’s commitment to raising standards, elevating expectations and the provision of quality care.
Christmas is a time of giving and receiving, a time of remembering the past and hoping for the future. The only time you can wear all of the Christmas clothes you’ve bought over the years.
I know it’s a special time for each and everyone of you, in your own way. Traditions that your parents may have started and ones you’ve carried on or started with your family. One I remember, as a child was that we could only open one gift per hour. We all sat around trying to decide which one to open – hoping it wasn’t socks or underwear. I tried this with my family and it worked for a while, I really don’t know who wanted to stop this tradition the most my family or me.
It is also a time to say thank you . . . There are so many people I want to thank. I want to thank all those who have helped me learn and grow as a husband, a father, a friend or a colleague. Thank you to all the staff of Golden Valley for the great job you do day in and day out. Golden Valley is truly exceptional, the staff we have, the care we provide, each of you should be very proud. Merry Christmas
