Is it illegal to text and drive?

So my wife calls me the other day and I could tell something was wrong.  You know how it is, after you’ve been with someone for a while you can almost “see” them through the phone.

She sounded as if she were going to cry so I asked her what was wrong.  She said “I think our son is smarter than me”.

As you might guess I was expecting to hear something much more meaningful and problematic but at this point I am curious so I say “Honey, he’s only 22 months old, what makes you think he’s smarter than you”.

She replys; “I was driving home after picking him up at the sitters and I received a text message.  I got my phone out and began to respond to the text message when he said ‘No momma, No momma, no texting, no texting’.”

Texting and driving is dangerous but so is laughing and driving and I began to laugh uncontrollably and I was driving home from work at the time I received her call.  I told my wife everything would be OK and that she should thank our son because he might just have saved her life and his in the process!
