Help! I need questions.

Our Marketing Department is tracking hits to the blog and in August it had 3,462 hits.  With all that traffic you’d think I’d get a few more questions.  You’re looking at the blog right now, use the “Leave a Comment” link below the blog and ask me a question.  Please…it’s more difficult than you might think coming up with 5 blog topics per week.

Once per week I would like to devote a blog to answering questions but in order to answer a question, one must first be asked.

Please send me questions or let me know if there are topics you’d like me to share my thoughts on, personal or professional.  To all of you who sent questions last week.  Thanks!

Being a musician, I’m always interested in other people’s tastes in music. What are some of the bands/artists you currently like (or liked as a teenager)? Do you play or have you ever attempted to learn an instrument?

You used to raise roses, and I had heard they were beautiful. Are you gardening now and do you have any roses? What is/was your method of protection for them during the colder months?

I would like to see GVMH offer more community support groups. There are a few support groups offered by local churches and the health department but there are not many resources for young adults and newer parents. As you know trouble shooting breastfeeding was not easy and required that I travel to Warrensburg.
I have done some research and these are classes offered at other hospitals that I think might benefit people in Clinton.
    Sibling class for expanding families,
Grandpartenting class (things have changed since our parents raised us)
    Breastfeeding classes and support
Car seat safety ( Health Department offers but has a limited schedule)
Infant CPR for Parents and Grandparents
Infant grieving / loss support group (closest group is in KC and I know there are people in town that could benefit)
Other classes that are offered in KC area and I am pretty sure that we have resources here to offer as well
    baby signing
    infant massage
Some of the classes do have fees and others don’t but I do think that healthcare has a responsibility to educate and people want to be proactive rather than reactive if at all possible. Education is VITAL. I acknowledge that it will take a lot of work but as the saying goes it takes a village to raise a baby. GVMH has a great childbirth class but there are so many other things they could offer the community.
